What we collect

At present, Trendy Shoes is an informational site. We collect a limited amount of information depending on how you interact with it:

• Contact form submissions — your name and email address if you choose to reach out to us.
• Newsletter sign-ups — your email address, and optionally your name, if you subscribe to our mailing list.
• Usage data — anonymised information about how visitors use the site, collected through our analytics tool. This does not identify you personally.

We do not currently operate an online store. If that changes, this policy will be updated to reflect any additional data collection — such as order details, billing addresses, or payment information — before those features go live.

How we use it

The information we collect is used only for straightforward purposes:

• To respond to messages or inquiries you send us.
• To send you our newsletter and any promotional communications you've opted into.
• To understand how the site is being used so we can improve it — through aggregated, anonymised analytics data.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies

This site uses a minimal number of cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

• Analytics cookies — a small, privacy-focused cookie set by Umami, our analytics tool, to distinguish unique visits. No personal data is stored in this cookie, and it is not used to track you across other sites.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not affect your ability to use this site.

Analytics

We use Umami to measure site traffic and understand which pages visitors find useful. Umami is a privacy-focused analytics platform: it does not use cookies to track individuals, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not share data with advertisers.

The data we see is aggregated — page views, referral sources, general device type, and approximate country. Nothing in our analytics setup can be used to identify you as an individual.

Umami is self-hosted, meaning your usage data stays on our own infrastructure and is never sent to a third-party analytics company.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we'll use your email address - and your name, if you've provided it - to send you updates about new arrivals, promotions, and style news from Trendy Shoes.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. We will not send you marketing emails without your consent, and withdrawing that consent is straightforward and immediate.

We use a third-party email service provider to send newsletters. Your name and email address are shared with that provider for delivery purposes only. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to ask us to delete it. In most cases, if we hold anything at all, it will be limited to your email address from a newsletter subscription or a contact form submission.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below. We'll respond promptly.

If you're in Québec, you have additional rights under Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector), including the right to portability and the right to be informed of any automated decision-making that affects you. We do not currently use automated decision-making.

Data retention

We keep newsletter subscriber data for as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, your information is removed from our mailing list within a reasonable period.

Contact form submissions may be retained in our email records for as long as the correspondence is relevant. Anonymised analytics data has no personally identifiable component and is retained indefinitely for trend analysis.
